More about Scribblemill…freelance website copywriter
Scribblemill is actually me, Paul Mallaghan β a web copywriter and constant scribbler based in Brighton.
I specialise in writing copy for business websites. That ranges from homepages and product pages, to blog posts and emails. I also help small businesses (like yours?) develop their brand language and tone of voice online.
My background
I’ve been writing crisp, clean copy for over seven years, for almost 100 business sites, including big brands like Tesco, Rightmove and Nationwide. I’ve also helped creative SMEs (such as Four Roads and OBS Group) develop their own distinct voices.
Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to partner with some of the UK’s leading web marketing and SEO companies as a preferred freelance copywriter. That includes exciting agencies such as Bigmouthmedia, Steak and Vertical Leap.
I also write articles for a range of publications (from national titles such as The Guardian, to niche tech sites like Screens.tv).
Why focus on being a website copywriter?
Really, I’m happy writing in any medium. I’ve written brochures, scripts, ads, newsletters, feature articles β even magazines for kid’s BBC TV programmes. But website copy is my speciality.
Working mainly online and partnering with such progressive agencies has given me an insight into search engine optimisation, web marketing and usability that most copywriters lack.
And, having written my first SEO copy back in 2003, I’ve helped dozens of websites get plum positions in the search results.
It’s also why I’m able to offer a targeted, useful (and highly praised!) SEO copywriting training service for companies that want to improve their online communication and rise up the search rankings.
You’ll find me bright, easy to work with and full of ideas.
