Linkbait and resource copy

Copywriting QuoteWhat’s the difference between blogs and linkbait?

We like to use the term linkbait for anything that’s a step beyond usual blogging requirements. For example, a huge resource post that takes weeks to research and write. An ebook with hundreds of pages. A report that draws together dozens of interviews.

All of this is linkbait. Literally – content that attracts links because it’s useful, extensive and unique.

(By the way – in case you’re wondering why a hyperlink is so important – every link helps you rank higher in the search engines. And usually, when you get high rankings, you get higher traffic and increased sales.)

However, this type of writing takes time. We’ll quote by the project and offer suggestions about what works and what doesn’t.
